Darwin V8 Supercars Round This Weekend.

Yes, the adrenalin fuelled Supercar circus is here again this weekend. So I shall post up a few images from last years event as a taster for the fun to come. This event is such a good weekend to go out in the sun and catch all the action. As a photographer who loves Motorsport and lives close by, the Darwin V8 Supercars round provides a vivid canvas. I love the crowd atmosphere, the on track speed and the music.

Motorsports Heaven

Hidden Valley raceway is a fabulous venue. Public access for viewing of the track is superb, I have been to many Racetracks and have to say Darwin is one of the best. The undulations, the selection of corners and of course the long straight, usually translates into great racing. It would be fabulous if the hairpin at the end of the straight was opened up to viewing as may overtaking moves are made there. However, even with a huge crowd in attendance, the areas that can be accessed allow all spectators to find a spot close to the roar and hot engine smells.

Full on Entertainment

At the end of each days racing the stage lights up and top musicians add their sounds to the valley echo. I particularly remember Wolfmother giving a great performance in 2008. I have not missed an event since the first round in Darwin 20 years ago. Wow that is amazing, I find it hard to believe that 20 years has passed since my first eager trip to the valley with my young son. The entertainment is full on at the Darwin V8 Supercars and I have not been disappointed once.

Photographs

I have taken thousands of images over the years at Hidden Valley, I relish the chance to capture this special event locally.
